I want to know

Here is the next thing I want to know.
What are the most important aspects to you of a worship service at Farmland Friends Church and why. This can be anything you can think of - from the attitude of the greeters to the temperature of the sanctuary. I really, really want to know what you think, don't worry about what you say just be honest and of course don't be cruel, and don't forget to explain why.

that's a hard question. it's really hard to say just one thing. i think the most important aspect for me is the praise music. i think there's so much God can teach me through praise. i also love the message brought forth and any kind of teaching through that. those are the most important things to me. i don't get too technical. haha.

Level of participation is important to me. I love to sing and be loud, so I become a little self-conscious if I'm sitting in a more quit area, which obviously hinders my worship.

The music has to be fun and exciting or slow and soul moving I am not so much in to the "original" old school gospel music that belongs in the 8:30 service. I love it when the church is just a bit chilly if it is hot all I can think about is HOW HOT I AM! Greeters are great! Of course you can't control it but crying, moving, distracting children really should have fun crying, moving and distracting in the nursery :0)

Oh and it would be awesome if we did more "out reach" activities in the evening like the mission thing. I would like to participate in more of them but they usually seem to be earlier in the day. I know this doesn't pertain to worship service but....

Thanks for the comments. I love getting them- they feel like gifts to me. Anyone else care to give me a gift?

the most important aspect to a worship service for me is knowing that everything we do should be to worship God, praise God and just plain love God and expressing this in a way that others who may be there not knowing for sure what this "God" thing is all about will sense that there is really something to it. How do we do this, with all the different styles and preferences? Well, my little ole opinion is we do it with a sincere heart not insisting on having a certain style in what we may consider as being the "best or right" way, humble hearts and attitudes of knowing we need God, long to show Him our love and express this openly in whatever style you're most comfortable with and allowing others to do likewise. I appreciate this so much about Farmland Friends.

obviously God's presence and a genuine spirit of worship is the goal... unfortunately we're all a little ADD. removing distractions helps us focus on the spirit.

some distractions that have redirected my focus away from God during worship, prayer or preaching(not necessarily at FFC... at church in general): feedback, misspelled words on the screen, children running back and forth, cute babies, temperature, stain glass window glares :o), worship team not in unison/tune
